Tobias Willi (*1976) studied from 1997 to 2003 at the "Hochschule für Musik", Basel (Switzerland) in the organ class of Prof. Guy Bovet (Teaching Diploma and Soloist's Diploma in 2003, passed with highest honours) and in the piano class of Prof. Heinz Börlin and Prof. Jürg Wyttenbach (Teaching Diploma with highest honours in 2002). From 2003 to 2005 he continued his organ studies at the "Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse" in Paris with a "Cycle de Perfectionnement" (postgraduate studies) in the organ class of Prof. Olivier Latry and Prof. Michel Bouvard.

Since January 2015, Tobias Willi is the main organist at the Johanneskirche in Zurich (Switzerland). As a concert organist, he is regularly invited for recitals all over Europe; participation in many famous organ festivals and recital series (Lucerne Festival 2004, Toulouse-les-orgues 2004, "Présences" in Paris 2005, Feldkirch Festival 2009, at Notre-Dame de Paris, at the Austrian Radio in Vienna 2009, in Haifa and Jerusalem in April 2012, at Monaco Cathedral in summer 2014, in the cathedrals of Bourges (F), Freiburg and Fulda, in the Dome of Riga in October 2015, in the Mariinsky Concert Hall St. Petersburg in spring 2016 etc.). Contemporary music and improvisation, often linked to other art disciplines as literature or film, take an important part in these activities; intense collaboration with the saxophonist Lars Mlekusch (Vienna) in the "Duo Iridolon", essentially focused on avantgarde music. Tobias Willi's performance of the complete organ works by Olivier Messiaen in 6 recitals in Zurich during concert season 2014/15 was highly acclaimed by the musical critics and the public.

In 2010, Tobias Willi was elected professor of organ and improvisation at the  Zurich University of Arts (ZHdK) and is regularly invited to summer academies and master-classes such as the Cours International d'Orgue at Romainmôtier (Switzerland)
